Akadeum Life Sciences

As a leader in Buoyancy Activated Cell Sorting, Akadeum Life Sciences offers a new process of isolating cells and other targets of interest. During their prototyping phase of developement, they discovered the need for a valve that also acts as a spinning collector of these targets.

Using our rapid injection molding (RIM) capabilities, we were able to go through a quick iterative process of designeing and redesigning molds to print and shoot different materials through until we were happy with the performance of the parts. RIM has allowed us to make many iterations and adjustments with low risk and low cost. It is perfect for testing out materials and was a crucial part of the prototyping phase for Akadeum Life Sciences.
