Multi Jet Fusion (MJF) 3D Printing Services

A unique powder-based 3D printing process that enables the printing of high-strength, low-cost parts.

Multi jet fusion (MJF) is a versatile 3D printing process that's more sophisticated and reliable than traditional manufacturing methods. By adding material with pinpoint accuracy, multi jet fusion 3D printing minimizes waste and can surpass the mechanical properties of certain injection molded parts. Multi jet fusion also supports more complex geometries, making entirely new designs possible.

Our Multi Jet Fusion 3D Printing Capabilities

As an early adopter of multi jet fusion 3D printing technology, Empire Group has the experience and equipment required to deliver the full advantages of this production method. Multi jet fusion 3D printing can produce items that more closely align with the original design. It also provides an inherent reduction in errors and material waste. We can identify any production challenges early in the prototyping phase to save you money and time over the long term.

Our design for additive manufacturing (DFAM) capabilities fully support your design team in developing complex part geometries and unique end applications for your product. In addition, we provide unmatched post-production finishing services for your high-fidelity MJF parts. We can sand, polish, color match, coat, and apply any other specialty surface treatment to meet your project’s aesthetic and functional needs.

Is Multi Jet Fusion Right for Your Application?

Multi jet fusion is perfect for low-volume production runs of end-use parts with complex geometries. This process is also ideal for parts that require certain high-quality production-grade materials. Because of its precision and accuracy, not a lot of post-production processing is required unless an added surface treatment is needed. For these reasons and more, our multi jet fusion products can meet or exceed the mechanical properties of injection molded parts.

MJF Materials – The Benefits of Nylon PA12

Our HP multi jet fusion system uses Nylon PA12, a more durable and chemical-resistant alternative to standard nylon. This makes PA12 effective in a variety of working environments and high-stress applications.

Nylon PA12 is also more isotropic than Nylon 12, a common material in more basic 3D printing processes. As a result, Nylon PA12 improves the finished material's mechanical strength in all directions, while increasing elasticity and elongation at break. PA12 can be used to create biocompatible components, watertight enclosures, and other complex assemblies.
