Who is Jim Bailey?
When it comes to the product development industry, there is no such thing as "downtime" - there is always something in motion. Whether it's a brainstorming session amongst designers, parts being 3D printed or milled on the CNC machines, or determining the perfect casting materials - it's a busy place to be. You can hear a constant humming of new creations throughout the shop floor. It takes a specific type of hardworking, knowledgeable individual to keep up.
Jim Bailey, Master Model Maker, is the epitome of what it takes to be successful in this fast-paced environment. With 30 years of experience in the model making world, he is our very own mold & casting guru. Jim is proactive in nature, and has the natural ability to see through complex issues to deliver outstanding solutions that exceed client expectations.
Proud to be an Empire-an
Such success can be attributed to Jim's underlying talents and interests. His love for his family, fishing, and being creative run deep and inspire him daily. A true craftsman at heart, he is passionate about working with his hands and creating.
Jim's career started at a young age working on the assembly line at Hasbro. During this time, he pursued an education in Machine Mechanical Drafting. However, his gears changed once there was an opening in their Model Shop. He took the opportunity to begin model making - and we're sure glad he did. It came very naturally with his artistic background in drawing, painting, and sculpting.
After 15 years at Hasbro, Jim transitioned to the then start-up company, operated out of a garage, known as "Empire Prototype". Fast forward 15 years to a large facility and a name change to "Empire Group" - Jim continues to work side by side with friends made through model making over the years. He is an original member of the Empire Group family and brings a host of skills and experiences that truly help shape the shop.
